Can My child GROW LONG HAIR??

Do you have to be mixed to have LONG hair??

Is Long hair determined by GENES??

What happens between the ages 0-4 with our kids hair?

Age 0:

your baby is a born with a thick head of hair -  that hair should be left alone, no bobbles and no bands!

Age 1-2:

ok, so the hair has started to grow and changes in texture, still, it's too fragile for corn-rows, it should be left alone!  I see hair being pulled into tight bands that damages hair!!  Leave it free!!

Age 2-3:

Kids are now sporting extensions, not all but I do see many with heavy extensions put in too fragile and weak hair- Why??  Most of the time its not even because a parent is trying to grow their child's hair its more to do with convenience/

Age 4+:

Many children I see have collar-bone or shoulder length hair, rarely do I see kids with LONG hair down their backs.

This is not because it wont grow, but unfortunately down to the way we as parents, guardians or hairdressers handle and nurture it!!

Hair grows on average 6 inches a year!  is your child seeing anywhere near that growth??

Tips for healthy hair growth:

Wash your childs hair regularly, use a conditioner, not shampoo, the more moisture the better, the hair will still be clean!!

Adopt a low-manipulation style, do not comb or brush the hair daily, in fact only comb the hair on wash days,

Invest in your child's hair to see the results they will hopefully thank-you for!!  ;)
